Income Trust Founder Earns Prestigious Business Award

CCS Income Trust CEO David Werklund named Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year® 2005 for the Prairies Region

(Calgary, September 29, 2005)-David P. Werklund, chairman of the board, president and CEO of CCS Income Trust, is the recipient of the Prairies region Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year 2005 award. Mr. Werklund also received one of 11 industry category awards (see below) presented this evening at a gala celebration in Calgary.

"For over 20 years, Mr. Werklund's innovative ideas and drive have been building CCS into a multinational energy and environmental waste management trust," says Barry Munro, director of the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year awards program for the Prairies region. "Mr. Werklund's commitment to his clients and his employees has grown his organization from a modest oilfield service company in Northern Alberta to the globally recognized leader that stands today."

Mr. Werklund founded CCS Income Trust in 1984. The publicly traded company (TSX symbol: CCR.UN) provides energy and environmental waste management services on a global level. CCS is focused on disciplined growth and maintains a commitment to environmental stewardship by setting and raising industry standards. The company went public in 1993 and subsequently converted to an income trust in 2002. Since the trust conversion, annual revenues have skyrocketed reaching $301 million in 2004, a 67% percent increase over 2003.

The small oilfield company Mr. Werklund initially founded has developed steadily by increasing and varying the services it provides. Four divisions currently make up the organization that services all of Western Canada as well as Peru, and is seeking to expand into other international markets. His commitment to excellence in customer service and to creating leaders within all levels of the organization has helped Mr. Werklund cultivate CCS into a dynamic company with a strong foundation for long-term growth.

Mr. Werklund believes in sharing the organization's success with the communities in which it operates. CCS has undertaken major fundraising initiatives for charities such as the United Way and the Canadian Cancer Society; the company also supports the efforts of its many employees who volunteer their time and talent to community organizations.

As the Prairies region award recipient, Mr. Werklund will compete with top entrepreneurs from the Pacific, Ontario, Quebec and Atlantic regions for the coveted national honour of Entrepreneur Of The Year, to be announced November 3 in Ottawa. In June 2006, Canada's Entrepreneur Of The Year will move on to the world stage, joining over 35 country recipients participating in the international competition for the title of World Entrepreneur Of The Year.
